Privacy Policy

gogoai.dev is a curated discovery feed for operations engineers. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can and you can browse the whole site without an account.

Information we collect

  • Anonymous device ID. The first time you react to, bookmark, or submit an item, we set a random ID in a first-party cookie (gogoai_device) so those actions persist on this browser. It is not linked to your identity unless you create an account.
  • Account details. If you sign up, we store your name, email, and the role and interests you provide, plus optional phone and company. We sign you in with an emailed one-time code / magic link — we do not store a password for your account.
  • Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email and subscription status. We use double opt-in (you confirm via email) and you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Content you submit. Comments you post and tips you send (e.g. a link and note), associated with your account or device ID.
  • Usage analytics. Aggregate usage data via Google Analytics (page views, referrers, general device/browser info) to understand what content is useful — loaded only after you accept analytics cookies.
  • Approximate location. Our hosting provider derives an approximate city/country from your IP address. We use it only to default the Jobs board to listings near you; you can switch to worldwide with one click.
  • Technical logs. Standard request logs (IP address, timestamp, user agent) kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.

Cookies & local storage

  • gogoai_device — anonymous device ID for reactions/bookmarks (about one year).
  • Session cookies to keep you signed in when you have an account.
  • Browser local storage for your theme choice and small UI preferences (e.g. dismissing a banner). These stay on your device.
  • Google Analytics cookies — set only if you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change this anytime via “Cookie preferences” in the footer.

How we use it

To operate and improve the feed, remember your reactions and bookmarks, run your account and (if you opt in) send the newsletter, surface locally-relevant jobs, understand aggregate usage, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal data or use it for third-party advertising.

Who processes your data

We share data only with providers that run the service for us:

  • Supabase — database and authentication.
  • Resend — transactional and newsletter email.
  • Google Analytics — usage analytics.
  • Vercel — hosting, request logs, and IP-based geolocation.

Links to external job postings, news, and other sites are governed by those sites' own privacy policies.

Retention

We keep account and subscription data until you delete your account or unsubscribe. Anonymous device data persists with the cookie (about a year) or until you clear it. Provider logs follow each provider's standard retention.

Your choices & rights

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email.
  • Clear your cookies / site data to reset your device ID and preferences.
  • Edit your profile from your account, or request access, correction, or deletion of your data by email.
  • Accept or decline analytics cookies in the banner, and change your choice anytime via “Cookie preferences” in the footer.

International transfers & children

Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
